The
Winsford site is the main manufacturing plant for the
company's consumer and craftsmen adhesives division.
It has a turnover of over £100m p.a. and employees
400 people working permanently and up to 100 on temporary
contracts. The site manufactures 1200 different items
ranging from 'Pritt' sticks to industrial adhesives.
They export the product 'No More Nails' to many countries
worldwide.

Henkel at Winsford have already developed a number
of group exercises which they have used successfully
on school visits and are actively developing more.
Projects include: Make your own Pritt stick; Make
a model factory from cardboard and glue.
How could it be made interesting
and appropriate?
They
are working with the Catalyst Science & Discovery
Centre in Widnes to develop interesting ways to present
the process within the site to groups of young people.
Background information
The company welcomes school visits but has to
limit them to once a quarter.
